Eastern medicinal uses several unique plants and fungi. What’s the Reishi Mushroom?
The reishi mushroom, also called Ganoderma lucidum and lingzhi, is a parasite that develops in several hot and humid places in Asia (1).
For several decades, this fungus was a staple in Eastern medication (1, 2 ).
Within the shrub, there are numerous molecules, such as triterpenoids, polysaccharides and peptidoglycans.
Though the mushrooms themselves may be consumed fresh, it’s also common to use powdered types of the mushroom or extracts which contain these particular molecules.
